Oppo’s teasers also emphasise using aerospace-grade aluminium in the device construction. The teaser images also reveal that the Oppo Reno 13 series 5G will sport a flat display and a triple-camera setup. In contrast to its predecessor, the Reno 12, the camera module on the Reno 13 series has undergone a slight redesign. With its sleek design, improved performance, and premium features, the Reno 13 series is set to be a strong competitor in the flagship smartphone market.
For years, the aerospace sector has pushed the frontiers of technology, and one of them is aluminium, which was initially used in aeroplanes many decades ago but has now become a cornerstone in the industry. The aerospace sector uses higher grades of aluminium, known as 7075 alloys. It is stronger, lighter, and can withstand the pressures and temperatures experienced by aeroplanes, spacecraft, and military equipment.
Running on ColorOS 15, based on Android 15, the Reno 13 series offers a refined software experience with a host of advanced features and optimisations. Its durability is further enhanced by IP66, IP68, and IP69 certifications, ensuring resistance to dust and water under various conditions.
Oppo Reno 13 in China
While specifics about the Indian variant are still scarce, the Oppo Reno 13 series has already debuted in China, providing a glimpse of its likely specifications. The Chinese model boasts a 6.59-inch flat AMOLED display with a resolution of 2760x1256 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate, offering sharp visuals and smooth performance. The MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset powered the device, featuring an upgraded GPU for enhanced gaming and faster app load times. A 5,600mAh battery with 80W fast charging support ensures extended usage and rapid recharges.
The Reno 13 series excels in the camera department, a signature feature of the Reno lineup. It includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel front camera, making it ideal for stunning selfies and high-quality video calls.
