{alcircleadd}Taiwan’s imports of aluminium scrap from the US stood at 2,640 tonnes in April, with a month-on-month increase of 9.54%. Taiwan had imported 2,410 tonnes in March 2021. On a yearly basis, imports reduced by 13.73 % from 3,060 tonnes in April 2020, as updated by the US Census Bureau.

The freshly revealed research exhibits that environmental concerns within Ireland are amongst the highest in Europe. The survey of thousands of people across 15 European countries, conducted by Every Can Counts, a not-for-profit communications programme working to inspire, encourage and empower people to recycle their empty drink cans indicates that 97% of Irish respondents commended for protecting the environment is important to them. Environmental concerns were only felt more strongly in the Czech Republic and the Netherlands.

Shawinigan Aluminum Inc. (SAI) rolls out its new aluminium recycling center. On 15th September 2020, as announced SAI is investing $ 10 million to build a new aluminium recycling center that will recycle 30,000 metric tonnes of aluminium per year.

Hydro announced that its Rackwitz recycling plant will expand into the production of the innovative HyForge forge stock segment. The new plant will start operations by end of the first quarter of 2023. The expansions will increase the use of post-consumer aluminium to ensure market-leading sustainability performance.

According to the US Census Bureau report, the country imported 34,200 tonnes of aluminium scrap from Canada in April 2021. That was almost flat compared to 34,800 tonnes in March 2021. However, the import volume in March increased month-on-month by 5,500 tonnes or 18.77 per cent from 29,300 tonnes in February. On the other hand, on a year-on-year calculation, the United States aluminium scrap imports from Canada stood double than 17,000 tonnes.

South Korea's imports of aluminium scrap from the US stood at 21,900 tonnes in April, with a year-on-year decrease of 9%. South Korea had imported 24,100 tonnes in April 2020. On a monthly basis, imports increased by 11% from 19,700 tonnes in March 2021, as updated by the US Census Bureau.

The nation in the Baltic region of Europe, Lithuania has booked 55,821 tonnes of aluminium scrap exportation during 2018-20 and the revenue generated from the export accounts for $55.90 million. Lithuania’s export of aluminium scrap in 2018 was registered at 11,904 tonnes and the earnings remained at $13.64 million, whereas, in 2019, the export displayed rapid growth by 81.80%, as the export volume surged to 21,642 tonnes and the earnings also soared to $21.95 million.
The Norwegian aluminium company, Hydro’s Aluminium Metal unit has inked a letter of intent (LOI) to acquire land to develop a “state-of-the-art aluminium recycling plant” in Cassopolis, Michigan, that will produce aluminium extrusion ingot. The LOI between Hydro Aluminium Metal and landowner Midwest Energy and Communications is based on Hydro’s proposal to construct a facility in Cassopolis so that starting the year 2023 it can produce 120,000 tonnes per year.
