On Friday, January 14, the benchmark aluminium price slipped by US$44 per tonne or by 1.30% to close at US$3,339 per tonne.
The most-traded SHFE 2202 aluminium closed down 1.27% or RMB 275 per tonne to RMB 21,375 per tonne, with open interest down 11765 lots to 172829 lots.
Overnight, the most-traded SHFE 2202 aluminium contract opened at RMB 21,515 per tonne, with the highest at RMB 21,535 per tonne before closing at RMB 21,305 per tonne, down RMB 280 per tonne or 1.3%.
LME aluminium price
LME aluminium opened at US$2,950.5 per tonne on Thursday and closed at US$2,958 per tonne, an increase of US$13 per tonne or 0.44%.
On Wednesday, January 12, both LME aluminium cash (bid) price and LME aluminium official settlement price moved up by US$54 per tonne and US$53 per tonne, to stand in at US$3,002 per tonne and US$3,003 per tonne. 3-month bid price and 3-month offer price also settled higher at US$3,012 per tonne and US$3,014 per tonne, respectively. December 22 bid price and December 22 offer price totalled at US$2,775 per tonne and US$2,780 per tonne.
LME aluminium opening stock registered at 898525 tonnes. Live warrants and Cancelled warrants closed at 512950 tonnes and 385575 tonnes.
LME aluminium 3-month Asian Reference Price came in at US$2,981.60 per tonne.
