South Korea's imports of aluminium scrap from the US stood at 21,900 tonnes in April, with a year-on-year decrease of 9%. South Korea had imported 24,100 tonnes in April 2020. On a monthly basis, imports increased by 11% from 19,700 tonnes in March 2021, as updated by the US Census Bureau.
{alcircleadd}South Korea imported 86,900 tonnes of aluminium scrap in the first four months of 2021, from 97,600 tonnes imported in the first four months of 2020. This marked a decrease of 11% year-on-year.
South Korea's imports of total aluminium (semi-finished products, crude metals and alloy and scrap) from the US stood at 23,300 tonnes in April 2021. That was down from 26,400 tonnes in April 2020, but up 20,800 tonnes in March 2021.
In January-April, total imports came in at 92,000 tonnes, an increase from 107,000 tonnes imported in January-April 2020.
