In November’20, Triumph Tiger 850 was showcased and it will be launched in India this year. It will be the entry-level adventure bike in the company's portfolio and will be powered by 888 cc engine.
{alcircleadd}The launch of Tiger 850 Sport in the Indian market is projected to take place before mid-2021. The price of the bike is expected to start from INR 1 million (ex-showroom).
The Triumph Tiger 850 Sport comes with an 888 cc three-cylinder engine with a T-plane crankshaft putting down 84 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 82 Nm at 6m500 rpm. In total 10 bhp and 5Nm less in comparison to Tiger 900 model. It has a six-speed gearbox with slip and assists clutch. The motorcycle features ride-by-wire throttle and comes with two different riding modes i.e. Rain and Road. Triumph Tiger 850 is tooled with a five-inch TFT instrument panel that offers all the essential readouts like speed, odometer, trip meter, etc.
The upcoming Tiger 850 brings up several design hints from other Tiger motorcycles. It gets twin LED headlight setup with eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs, adjustable windscreen, front beak, and a large radiator. The bike also gets a compact fuel tank with tank shrouds, belly pan, split step-up seat, and an upswept exhaust.
According to Triumph, the Tiger 850 Sport is an agile motorcycle and its aluminium lightweight modular frame and bolt-on aluminium rear sub-frame makes the bike weight 192 kg, which is 7 kg lighter than the previous generation Tiger 800 XR.
Triumph Tiger 850 adventure-tourer furnished with 45 mm Marzocchi inverted forks with 180 mm travel along with a gas pressurised mono-shock rear suspension unit with manually adjustable preload and 170 mm rear-wheel travel. The braking duties, on the other hand, are tended to by Brembo Stylema four-piston monobloc callipers with twin 320 mm disc brakes at the front in combination with a single 255 mm disc brake with single-piston calliper.
