When it comes to aluminium casthouse machinery, Mechatherm International Limited is the leading provider in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1973 by Bryan Emes, John Gardner, and Louis Riley, the aluminium casthouse equipment supplier celebrated 50 years of business, a milestone occasion for the company.
{alcircleadd}To commemorate this historic anniversary, Mechatherm will conduct a number of activities throughout the year, including a gala dinner and the biggest exhibition stand in the United States to date at Aluminium USA in October.
The company's devotion to sustainability has also contributed to its success. Mechatherm has created novel solutions to minimise energy usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and trash formation in the aluminium recycling process. This development will culminate in Mechatherm converting the world's first aluminium melting furnace for industrial usage in 2024.
"Mechatherm has come a long way in the last 50 years from my father's back bedroom in Epsom, where it all began, to a multinational, award winning, company with its own premises. My Father would be very proud of what everyone has achieved now and will achieve going forward, as am I. The future is bright!" said Mechatherm Chairman Andrew Riley.
Mechatherm was founded to provide customised Aluminium Melting and Holding furnaces with solid British engineering and industry-leading technology. Things began to change in the 1990s when they completed their first large-scale international smelter project.
Since then, the company has continued to grow, with its largest recycling plant installed at JW Aluminium in the United States in 2019, establishing the brand as an undisputed industry leader in aluminium casthouse equipment. Among its numerous accomplishments, Mechatherm has received the Queen's Award for Export thrice.
“I have incredible pride at working for, then running Mechatherm for over 40 years, and now as Mechatherm rise from the ashes of COVID, returning to assist in what has been a record-breaking year in sales,” stated Chris Emes, Director at Mechatherm.
