US aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports to Canada accelerate growth rate amounting to 24,700 tonnes in Aug’22

In August 2022, the United States aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports to Canada grew by 3,800 tonnes or 18.18 per cent month-on-month to log at 24,700 tonnes, found the US Census Bureau data. In July 2022, the export volume from the US to Canada was 20,900 tonnes – only 800 tonnes more than 20,100 tonnes in June. However, the figure in June decreased by 3,500 tonnes or 14.83 per cent from 23,600 tonnes.

On a year-on-year basis, the United States aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports to Canada edged a 7.14 per cent fall from 26,600 tonnes.

From January to August 2022, the United States exported 175,000 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars to Canada versus 203,000 tonnes. That indicated a year-on-year fall of 13.79 per cent in the United States aluminium flat rolled products exports to Canada in the first eight months of the year.

In August 2022, the United States total aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports stood at 43,100 tonnes, up by 14.02 per cent month-on-month from 37,800 tonnes but down by 14.31 per cent year-on-year from 50,300 tonnes.

In the first eight months of 2022, the United States aluminium plates, sheets and bars exports totalled 300,000 tonnes – 31.51 per cent less than 438,000 tonnes during the corresponding period of the last year.
