The New South Wales, Australia headquartered Alpha HPA has signed definitive agreements with Orica Australia, the global leader in mining and civil blasting for the HPA First Project in Gladstone, Queensland.
{alcircleadd}The collaboration implies the supply and offtake of by-products to and from Alpha's First Project and Orica's Yarwun manufacturing facility.
The agreement incorporates a supply and offtake deal and a project execution agreement that details the capital investment obligations and the scope for commissioning, reagent and by-product validation trials.
Alpha said: “The newly signed agreements secure the commitment by both parties to leverage the process synergies to unlock the value from both of their projects.”
The agreement is valid for a 10-year term with an option to extend for another 10-year term.
Rimas Kairaitis, Managing Director of Alpha HPA Managing Director was pleased to have signed the agreements.
"The agreements secure the reagent supply and by-product offtake for the HPA First Project and set the project firmly on the path to commercialization. These agreements represent a mutually beneficial, long-term commitment between our businesses," Kairaitis said.
"Over the last 18 months, Orica's engineering and commercial teams have worked diligently with the Alpha team across of range of detailed engineering, technical and commercial considerations."
Predominantly, this partnership agreement positions Alpha effectively to establish a world-class production centre for ultra-high purity aluminium products.
