In partnership with enigmatic motorbike enterprise Brough Superior, British luxury car maker Aston Martin has launched a track-only superbike called AMB 001 Pro. The crankcase of this latest version has been machined out of a single-piece aluminium billet.
{alcircleadd}The team-up may not come as a surprise because this is not the first time Aston Martin and Brough Superior are coming together. In 2019, they teamed up to create the AMB 001 superbike, but this new model has been claimed to reach the next level in innovation with an impeccable new look.
The Aston Martin AMB 001 Pro was revealed at the EICMA Motorcycle Show, featuring a 997cc dual-cylinder engine and a crankcase fully machined from an aluminium billet. The company claims that this will provide added rigidity, and the new cylinder pattern might help in cooling down the machine. In the AMB 001, there is an embedded turbocharger, but the AMB 001 Pro can generate 25 per cent more power, almost 168kW.
Aston Martin claims that the power-to-weight ratio of this particular bike is similar to that of an F1 car, the downforce being augmented with a new front spoiler and side wings. The front cowling has been attached to the body to help the air escape from the top of the rider. There’s even a rear fin with an aero stabiliser to enhance the drag coefficient.
The Aston Martin AMB 001 Pro has been purposefully created for track use only and is dedicated to the Valkyrie AMR Pro. Only the flagship colour combination, Aston Martin’s Verdant Jade mixed with carbon fibre lime and black paint, is available.
Aston Martin AMB 001 was limited to 100 hundred units, whereas this new AMB 001 Pro would be restricted to only 88 models planned to be made at Brough Superior’s Toulouse plant, with deliveries beginning from the latter half of 2023.
