Tala, a lighting brand from UK, has designed a "super simple" alumina lighting range considering the urban nomads in mind. The lights are designed to cater to the more transient rental market.
Tala's latest collection is manufactured from alumina – a high-grade technical ceramic base made from chemical grade bauxite. These alumina ceramics are typically used in industrial applications, which the lighting brand has used for interior lighting.
{alcircleadd}The use of alumina material in the lights offers a matte white finish for simplicity and clarity. The outward finish is complemented by a minimal, pared-back design. The table lamp assembly is simply formed of a bulb, stand and a tuner; the plug-in pendant consists of a node and a bulb.
"Pushing design boundaries is a part of Tala's DNA, but we also want to create accessible design pieces for residential and commercial environments," said Tala co-founder Josh Ward.
"Alumina was the natural choice of material for this new range, which we designed to be versatile and sustainable, and allow for easy-installation desired by today's urban nomads," he added.
The easy to install and reinstall lights which do not require an electrician for installation are actually designed for the growing rental market that demands convenience and life on the move.
As a substance that is used as a raw-material for the smelting of aluminium, alumina is highly durable in addition to being cheap to manufacture. The company says this range of alumina lights are in line with Tala's aim to design products that are both affordable and "built to last".
