Ultraviolette Automotive, a Bangalore-based developer of electric two-wheeler vehicles, has revealed the production-spec battery pack that will power its future F77 e-motorcycle a month before its official launch.
{alcircleadd}In contrast to the prototype's detachable battery packs from 2019, the new battery pack is permanent, bigger, and contains more lithium-ion cells. Instead of the 18,650 batteries in the prototype, there are 21,700 lithium-ion cells enclosed in an aluminium casing. The battery size of the Ultraviolette F77 is the biggest of any electric two-wheeler in India, with a useable capacity of 10.5kWh on the top model.
Aluminium cases are ideal for safeguarding electronics equipment, static-sensitive gadgets, and most modern computers and electrical equipment since they are strong conductors of heat and electricity. Compared to other metals, aluminium has the highest electrical conductivity-to-weight ratio.
According to Ultraviolette, the choice to use a stationary battery pack was made to increase range. According to the Indian Driving Cycle (IDC), the Ultraviolette F77 has a range of 307 kilometres, significantly increasing from the 150 kilometres the first battery packs were capable of.
