International Aluminium Institute (IAI) has appointed two new members to the team to support the Association’s environmental awareness mission. Dr Paul Marsh becomes new Health, Safety & Environment Program Manager, while Lavinya Kugaswaran as Environment (Bauxite & Alumina) Program Manager.
{alcircleadd}Dr Paul Marsh has experience in scientific and regulatory affairs within the metals industry and an MChem (Hons) and a DPhil in chemistry. Dr Paul will be responsible for overseeing the IAI’s broad science work programme.
Institute mission include increased awareness to the unique circular nature of aluminium recyclability, promoting R&D into recycling aluminium, healthy, safe and environmentally sound production of aluminium and Communicate between agencies, members and other parties on global matters.
Lavinya Kugaswaran has worked as a representative on the mining perspective on the European Commission’s Sustainable Finance Platform for future European policy development. She is a founding leader on the Just Transformation Program over the last two years alongside European regions to undergo systemic decarbonisation as well as more.
