According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the United States imported 5,670 tonnes of US aluminium plates, sheets and bars from South Africa, showing a month-on-month surge of 2,160 per tonne or 61.53%. In September 2021, 3,510 tonnes of US aluminium plates, sheets and bars were imported from South Africa, showing a sharp decline of 3,780 tonnes from 7,290 tonnes in August 2021.
{alcircleadd}On a year-on-year calculation, US aluminium plates, sheets and bars imported from South Africa in October 2021 climbed up by 3,040 tonnes or by 115.58% from 2,630 tonnes in October 2020.
From January to October, the imported aluminium plates, sheets and bars from South Africa registered at 31,800 tonnes. For the same period last year, the amount stood at 28,200 tonnes.
As per the data shared by the USGS, the total amount of aluminium plates, sheets, bars, crude metals and alloys, and scrap, imported from South Africa for October 2021 closed at 6,160, showing a year-on-year ascend of 3,530 tonnes. The total amount for October 2020 pegged at 2,630 tonnes.
