According to the International Aluminium Institute, the world alumina production in November 2022 amounted to 11.585 million tonnes, bringing the total output in eleven months of the year to 127.607 million tonnes. The monthly production in November edged a decline of 3.13 per cent from 11.959 million tonnes in October 2022 but recorded a rise of 3.10 per cent year-on-year from 11.237 million tonnes.
The world’s total output of alumina from January to November registered a slight Y-o-Y increase of 0.64 per cent from 126.793 million tonnes.
China churned out 6.70 million tonnes of alumina in November 2022, compared to 6.930 million tonnes in the previous month. That reflected a month-on-month shrink by 3.32 per cent, according to IAI. However, on a Y-o-Y basis, China’s output stood 10.11 per cent higher than 6.085 million tonnes.
During January-November, China’s total production of alumina amounted to 72.30 million tonnes, up by 5 per cent from 68.854 million tonnes a year ago.
In the Oceania region, alumina production during November’22 stood at 1.624 million tonnes, down by 3.04 per cent from 1.675 million tonnes in October but 3.96 per cent higher than 1.691 million tonnes.
In eleven months of the year, the Oceania’s alumina output totalled 18.387 million tonnes, reflecting a Y-o-Y downfall of 4.21 per cent from 19.195 million tonnes.
World’s daily average alumina production in November 2022 was 579,300 tonnes, down by 0.26 per cent from 580,800 tonnes a month ago but up by 3.10 per cent from 561,900 tonnes a year earlier.
