Ball Corporation has publicised its recent collaboration with Novelis and Penske Logistics with a social media post. The trio would replace single-use plastic cups with Ball's aluminium cups at all Indianapolis Motor Speedway events in 2023.
{alcircleadd}The lightweight aluminium cup, courtesy Ball Corporation, can be recycled infinitely after proper use curtailing the amount of carbon dioxide released into the air in the long run. Ball claims about 75% of the aluminium produced remains in the material loop due to recycling. Moreover, an aluminium cup can return to the self within a 60 days cycle.
This is not the first time the sports community has actively promoted aluminium use. Only last week, May 23, there were reports of War on Single-Use Plastic (WOSUP) implementing aluminium cup use during the Wallabies vs Argentina rugby test to be held on July 15 at Sydney's CommBank Stadium.
Ball posted the news stating: "We're racing towards net zero! We've partnered with Novelis and Penske Logistics to bring the Ball Aluminum Cup® and our Team Aluminum backpack ambassadors to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend. "
The company also remarked: Help Ball in our race for sustainability by recycling or reusing your aluminium cups because in this race, everyone wins!"
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway prioritises reducing and eliminating waste. To achieve this goal, they have partnered with Novelis, Ball Aluminum Cup®, and Penske Logistics to create a circular economy that allows them indefinitely reuse products and materials. Thanks to this partnership, the aluminium cups to be circulated at the Speedway are a great example of waste reduction and sustainable practices.
